The Performer’s Workshop Las Vegas 2026
Hosted by our friends at Seedling Theatre Company in Henderson, NV, we brought TPW to the desert! Led by Marissa Jaret Winokur, Kerry Butler, and Laura Bell Bundy, students were put through four hours of musical theatre fury. There was no stopping this beat!
Vocal Technique
Broadway veteran Kerry Butler led a vocal technique class in which she worked with short cuts of songs that students found difficult to sing. She helped them approach these challenging passages by teaching practical vocal tricks and exercises, focusing less on simply hitting the note and more on building the technique and confidence needed to sing it effectively.
Acting The Song
Next, everyone’s favorite girl in pink, Laura Bell Bundy, worked with each student on the acting of their songs. She led them through character analysis, exploring motivations and digging deeply into the lyrics so they could better understand the story and intentions behind every word.
Audition Workshop
After refining their vocal and acting techniques, the students stepped into a mock audition led by Tony Award® winner Marissa Jaret Winokur. Through this simulated audition setting, she demonstrated the practical skills needed for a successful musical theatre audition—showing students how to communicate clearly with an accompanist, what material to include in their audition book, and how to present themselves confidently in the room. The experience gave students a clearer understanding of what it takes to succeed at a musical theatre audition.
